Ripped $20's

I should write this stuff down! Oh, I guess I am! Well, anyway I just want to thank the Lord for my grandkids! In a time when families are far apart and grandparents are living to "spend their kids inheritance" I appreciate the the fulness of life my kids and grandkids give me. They can be noisy, exhausting, and even frustrating sometimes, but when it's all said and done, it's time well spent.

I had three grandparents all the way through my childhood and my kids were able to know two of them. I learned from them and have snippets of memories that made me who I am. The small things we do with our kids and grandkids shape their lives, too. And that brings me to "ripped $20's"...

I gathered up my two oldest grandgirls one Saturday night for a trip to the drive-in movies. When we got to the gate I realized they weren't going to take debit cards and the only cash I had was a $20 bill I had accidentally ripped in half. I offered it up apologetically feeling somewhat like a loser, and the lady said, "I'm just glad you told me! Sometimes I don't realize it until I count it!". So, now we have a new joke between us. Next time when we're short on cash, we can always spend "ripped $20's"! Just another way that finding the fun and humor in things can lighten the load. Thanks, Lucy. I love you!
